Al Hasaniya Moroccan Women’s Centre

Al Hasaniya Moroccan Women’s Centre has been supporting Arabic speaking women and their families in the community for over 32 years. We have developed and maintain strong partnerships with numerous local services and organisations. Our aim is to empower and support Arabic speaking women to be informed and lead independent lives.

Volunteers are extremely important to our work and team. We are excited to search for and find the right people to join our team as volunteers.

In return for your valuable time, we will offer you the following:

Volunteer Administrator

Reports to:
Centre Manager

Salary: Voluntary/unpaid

Hours: 10am-1pm twice a week

Job description

  • Answering telephone calls and greeting clients
  • Filing
  • Keeping up to date record of the Centre’s service users
  • Supporting staff in their day to day tasks

Person Specification

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Time management skills
    • Excellent IT skills and able to use various Microsoft packages, including Word
    • Good written oral and skills
    • Commitment of at least 3 months
    • Ability to be flexible
    • Knowledge of English and preferably Arabic speaking
    • Willingness to work with vulnerable adults
    • To uphold and comply with the organisation’s policies and procedures and the law in relation to health and safety, equal opportunities, and the data protection required for the effective and appropriate operation of the centre

Friday Project Coordinator x2

Reports to: Centre Manager

Salary: Voluntary; unpaid

Hours: Fridays either 10am-12pm or 10am-3pm

Job description

  • Supporting staff to run the drop ins, including filing and registering new clients
  • Supporting staff to facilitate the Friday Luncheon Club, including taking the register
  • Supporting staff in their day to day tasks

    • Warm and friendly and able to engage with the elderly

Volunteer Marketing Assistant

Reports to: Centre Manager

Salary: Voluntary; unpaid

Hours: 10am-1pm twice a week

Main purpose of the role

The role of the Volunteer Marketing Assistant will be to assist staff in promoting the Centre’s activities and workshops, with the aim of raising awareness of the Centre, its projects and the services offered to the local community.

Job description

  • Design posters and leaflets to support projects
  • Distributing posters and leaflets to local community organisations, schools, clinics and GP surgeries
  • Attending promotional events, fairs and networking opportunities with staff and reporting on them
  • To play an active role as part of the team and contribute to the wider objectives of the centre

Person Specification

  • Enthusiastic
  • Excellent time management skills and well organised
    • Has some experience of marketing, either through education, work or volunteering
    • Has excellent communication skills
    • IT skills and able to use various Microsoft packages, including Word
    • Good written oral and skills
    • Commitment of at least 3 months
    • Ability to be flexible
    • Knowledge of English and preferable Arabic speaking
    • Knowledge of working with vulnerable adults
